We haven’t heard too much about SUCKER PUNCH in a while, at least not since Zack Snyder announced he’d be tackling the unusual film. But in the same issue of Entertainment Weekly that showed you the first look at The Green Lantern, it also shows you a double-page look at Sucker Punch with Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens, Jamie Chung, Jena Malone, Abbie Cornish and Scott Glenn. The girls look pretty sexy and Glenn looks pretty menacing, so if that’s what Snyder was going for, then job well done. The film also stars Carla Gugino, Jon Hamm and Michael Jai White.
The film is about a young girl (Browning), whose stepfather commits her to a mental institution. With her impending lobotomy days away, she creates a fantastical world in which she has to steal five objects while on the run from an evil man. Sounds like a mix between ALICE IN WONDERLAND and PAN’S LABYRINTH, but maybe a little dark to catch on to mainstream audiences. The film hits theaters March 25th, 2011.
