THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN is shaping up to be the 2012 version of GREEN LANTERN. After a poor trailer, lame images and horrible press, the film is in recovery mode. So Sony launched a new website today, complete with the pictures below and some fluff to try and convince you that you didn’t just see this film nine years ago. Personally, they have a long way to go and if they make this another origins story, it will be almost unforgivable in my book. We know who Spider-Man is, let’s move on. But any way, this is a big budget blockbuster tentpole for Sony, so whether they’re impressed with the final product or not, the marketing machine is going to keep rolling on.
THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Dennis Leary, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field. The Marc Webb directed film hits theaters on July 3rd, 2012.
