Chris Hemsworth

Born in Melbourne, Australia, Chris Hemsworth moved around quite a bit in the Outback and the Northern Territory.  He is the middle child of older brother Luke and younger brother Liam, who are both actors as well.  Hemsworth worked on the Australian soap opera “Home and Away” from 2004 through 2007.  His reoccurring character gave him enough notoriety to be a contestant on “Dancing with the Stars Australia” where he lasted seven weeks before being eliminated.  In 2009, he landed a small but pivotal role as George Kirk, father to James Kirk, in J.J. Abrams’ STAR TREK.  Consistently delivering memorable performances in movies like SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN, RUSH and BLACKHAT, Hemsworth‘s good looks, deep voice and charisma continues to be a huge asset as he climbs the Hollywood ladder rather quickly.  While filming the horror film, THE CABIN IN THE WOODS, writer/director Joss Whedon insisted he audition for the role of Thor.  Reportedly gaining 20 pounds of muscle, he beat out fellow THOR castmate, Tom Hiddleston (Loki) for the leading role.  The popular Marvel superhero propelled Hemsworth to super stardom as he has continued the character in THOR: THE DARK WORLD, THE AVENGERS and AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON.  In 2010, Chris Hemsworth married Spanish actress Elsa Pataky. The couple have a daughter and twin sons.
