Adam Sandler is a vampire in new trailer for Hotel Transylvania
Sony has a new animated comedy that is coming out this fall and I have to confess that it looks pretty cute and I think Adam Sandler will to make a pretty good Dracula as well. That’s a pretty bold statement considering how many lame animated features have come out over the years. Sure Pixar almost always turns out a good film (besides CARS 2), but there have been other animated features from various studios like DESPICABLE ME, CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS and RIO that have really crossed multi-generational audiences. Though it may not be one of the best, there’s no doubt that HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA will do well at the box office. Why? Probably because there just aren’t that many kids films coming out these days.
HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA is a comedy directed by Genndy Tartakovsky that features the voice talents of: Adam Sandler, Selena Gomez, Steve Buscemi, Kevin James, David Spake, Fran Drescher, Andy Samberg, Molly Shannon, Cee-Lo and David Koechner. The story follows Dracula (Adam Sandler) who runs a hotel that is strictly for monsters, no humans allowed. When a unsuspecting human, Jonathan (Andy Samberg) I presume, stumbles upon the hotel and falls in love with Dracula’s daughter, Mavis (Selena Gomez), the Count must go into overdrive to protect the secrecy of his guests. The film opens on September 21st, 2012.
Every once in awhile I love a good animated film and HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA will be one of those that I watch in between more grown-up features. Cute films like these are a great palate cleanser and we all need one of those once in awhile. Now if we can just get Adam Sandler to get back on track with his other films we may be golden. Here’s a personal plea to Adam Sandler, please consider doing more romantic comedies and possibly some more dramas, you really excel at both.
