Alex Pettyfer joins Oprah Winfrey and Forest Whitaker in Lee Daniels' The Butler
Looks as though all the marketing for the upcoming male stripper film MAGIC MIKE has thrown Alex Pettyfer‘s career back into gear. He was the bees knees there for about nine months, but then he opened his mouth in a couple of interviews and people realized how uncool he was. Oh, and his movies bombed so that didn’t help either. We’ll have to wait and see if MAGIC MIKE will give his career the boost to go a little further this time, but so far it seems to be working in his favor since he has officially signed on to the Lee Daniels’ film THE BUTLER.
THE BUTLER follows the story of Eugene Allen (Forest Whitaker), the late White House butler who was employed during the time of eight presidents from 1952-1986. Alex Pettyfer will play Thomas Westphall and he will join a cast that includes: Oprah Winfrey, David Oyelowo, Cuba Gooding Jr., Lenny Kravity, Terrence Howard, Alan Rickman, and Jane Fonda. Filming for THE BUTLER is scheduled to start in July. (Deadline)
