Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day coming to theaters

Geesh, once again, a classic children’s book is coming to the big screen that I have absolutely zero familiarity with. We just showed the trailer for THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS, which I was completely clueless about and now comes word that the classic book ‘Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day’ is on its way to the big screen. Shawn Levy’s production company 21 Laps will be the man in charge of bringing the high-concept family comedy to life. As of right now, he has no star or director and has not hinted he will be taking the reigns himself. Rob Lieber will write the screenplay.
For those that aren’t familiar with Judith Viorst’s book, it’s about a boy and his family that suffer through the worst day imaginable. Well, not imaginable considering the first “bad” event is that he wakes up with gum in his hair, but it’s pretty bad when you’re a kid. It’s not like a scene from FUNNY GAMES erupts and his family gets tortured or anything, which would be the worst day imaginable for most of us.
