Alien prequels have been delayed

Ridley Scott’s prequels to ALIEN have apparently been delayed for a full year, which pushes the two films back to being released in 2013 and 2014. Production was supposed to begin in February 2011, but we really don’t know why there’s a delay as it’s still being kept under wraps. We also still don’t have any definite casting news and all we know is that Noomi Rapace and Olivia Wilde are still the front runners for the lead.

It’s not uncommon for films of this magnitude to hit a few roadblocks here and there and I’m sure I’m not in the minority when I say that I’d rather the films be pushed back a few years so that Mr. Scott can do a better job with the final product. Although if I have to be honest, I’m not terribly excited about a prequel to ALIEN anyway, but if it has to happen I’m glad Ridley Scott is the one behind the lens.
