Amy Adams, Samantha Morton, Carey Mulligan and Joaquin Phoenix look set for Spike Jonze's next film
After wowing me (and a lot of people) with the incredible WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE, director Spike Jonze has been pretty quiet. He’s one of the most innovative and creative filmmakers out there right now, but he doesn’t make many movies, so any time we get news about an upcoming project of his, it’s reason to get excited. The project doesn’t have a name yet and the exact plot is being kept secret, but we do know that it’s written by Charlie Kauffman, so chances are good we wouldn’t understand it even if we did have a plot synopsis. There was word a while back that it would focus on world leaders assembling to solve the world’s problems, but we obviously assume there’s more to it than that.
The project has been in the works for a while and originally had Carey Mulligan and Joaquin Phoenix attached. They’re still on board and today we learn that Amy Adams and Samantha Morton will also be joining the cast. Shooting is scheduled to start this Spring.
