Amy Adams signs on for Dark Places
If you aren’t completely charmed by actress Amy Adams then you have no heart. Since her role in the 2005 comedy JUNE BUG, Amy Adams has given us a slew of great performances like: ENCHANTD, DOUBT, JULIE & JULIA, THE FIGHTER and of course last years THE MUPPETS. Amy Adams is just one of those actresses who can do just about anything and its always exciting to see what role she’ll take next. In fact, one of the many projects Amy Adams will be taking on in the next year or so is DARK PLACES.
DARK PLACES is based on the book by Gillian Flynn and follows Libby Day (Amy Adams) who sadly witnessed her family get murdered while she was a teenager and testifies against her own brother who was convicted of the crime. The film will then jump ahead 25 years later where Libby is brought before the Kill Club, which is a secret society that’s obsessed with notorious crimes. The Kill Club tries to get information from Libby that may set her brother free and Libby will have to relive the events from 25 years ago. DARK PLACES will be directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner (SARAH’S KEY) but there’s no word yet on when this will go in front of the cameras.
Amy Adams has quite a line-up of films in the next couple of years that include: ON THE ROAD, THE MASTER, Steve Martin’s OBJECT OF BEAUTY a currently untitled project from Charlie Kaufman and Spike Jonze and of course she’ll portray the infamous reporter and love interest Lois Lane in MAN OF STEEL which I’m most excited for. With three Oscar nominations under her belt, it’s only a matter of time before Amy Adams takes home one of those golden statues and I’ll be rooting for her the entire time. (Deadline)
