Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone get close in new poster for The Amazing Spider-Man

I feel like I’m really waffling on THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN film. On one hand, I like how it seems a little darker than the previous films from Sam Raimi, but on the other hand I’m still trying to wrap my head around Andrew Garfield as the famous web slinger and adorable Peter Parker. Not that I don’t like Andrew Garfield, I just really thought Tobey Maguire was the perfect Peter Parker, in fact when they announced that they were making Spider-Man into a film I said first that Maguire would be the perfect fit. If you don’t believe me then you’ll have to ask my spouse, its a true story. Anyway, back to my waffling dilemma. One of the big reasons I’m iffy on the film is because of the poster. Don’t you think it just seems too bright and comic-y considering what we’ve seen in the trailers? I just think it looks like it belongs too much with the previous SPIDER-MAN films and I wanted something a little more original.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN follows Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) who is a teenager trying to find his place in life as well as uncover the truth as to why his parents left him when he was just a youngster. When he finds some clues that may uncover the truth, he is put on a potential path of doom where The Lizard my take him down. Oh, and he’s also dealing with the early days of young love with Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) who happens to be the daughter of the police chief trying to take down Spider-Man as well. It’s tough being Spidey these days.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN stars: Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Dennis Leary, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Cambell Scott and Sally Field.  The Marc Webb (500 DAYS OF SUMMER) directed film hits theaters on July 3rd, 2012. (Twitter)
