Anthony Hopkins will join Russell Crowe and Emma Watson in Darren Aronofsky's Noah

Anthony Hopkins

The next epic film from Darren Aronofsky (BLACK SWAN) is still gathering together talent as today we learn that Anthony Hopkins has joined. Anthony Hopkins is set to play Methuselah, which those who went to Sunday school will remember was the oldest man mentioned in the Bible. Methuselah also happened to be the grandfather to Noah (of The Ark fame) and tried to help his grandson convince the people to turn back to God so they wouldn’t be destroyed. God spared Methuselah and ended his life before He flooded the Earth, but Methuselah did play an important role which is why Aronofsky procured an important actor.

Alongside Russell Crowe, Anthony Hopkins will join a cast that includes: Emma Watson, Jennifer Connelly, Logan Lerman, Ray Winstone and Douglas Booth. NOAH will be quite the epic production and is not set to hit theaters until March 28, 2014. Stay tuned for more casting news in the upcoming months. (Twitter)
