Ben Affleck and David Fincher are set to reteam for Strangers
It seems things went well on the set of David Fincher’s GONE GIRL, which hits Blu-ray today. And to celebrate the Blu-ray release, we have news that Fincher and Ben Affleck are going to team up again for STRANGERS. The film will be a modern version of Alfred Hitchcock’s STRANGERS ON A TRAIN. The original film follows two strangers that meet on a train and decide exchange murders. The update will have Affleck as an actor on an Oscar campaign that meets a wealthy stranger. Think of it as a serious take on HORRIBLE BOSSES. So this will be another dark drama filled with murder and intrigue for Affleck and Fincher.
To help them with their reteaming, they’re once again bringing along GONE GIRL screenwriter Gillian Flynn to pen the screenplay. This is a project Fincher has been circling for a while now, but it looks like the inclusion of Affleck and Flynn was enough to push it over the edge. You may be wondering how Affleck is going to fit all of this into his busy schedule. Supposedly, he’s going to start STRANGERS right after LIVE BY NIGHT and before JUSTICE LEAGUE. (Deadline)
