Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lawrence, Argo and Les Miserables win big at the Golden Globes
If you’ve done any amount of research or read up on the Golden Globes, then you know that they’re generally considered a joke, but can still offer some insight into what will win Best Picture at the Academy Awards. This has been a strange year for awards circuits with nothing really separating itself from the pack. I’m not sure tonight’s Golden Globes changed that but I can’t help but smile at the love given to ARGO. Even though he didn’t get an Oscar nomination, Ben Affleck did manage to take home Best Director, along with Best Dramatic Picture for ARGO. If ARGO won the Oscar, I’d be elated. I’m also happy to see that LINCOLN didn’t win anything but Best Actor. I was surprised it got as many Oscar nominations as it did.
Best Actor and Actress predictably went to Daniel Day-Lewis, Hugh Jackman, Jessica Chastain and Jennifer Lawrence and like most of us expect, it’s a safe bet that two of them will add an Oscar to their list of Awards. As for the TV front, ‘Homeland’ and HBO’s ‘Game Change’ were the big winners, as well as Lena Dunham and her HBO comedy ‘Girls’. See the complete list of winners below.
