THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY was originally a film from 1947 starring Danny Kaye about a writer who is ridiculed for excessively daydreaming about crazy heroic experiences and adventures. Like all films in a Hollywood, the movie is getting a remake starring Ben Stiller as the title character, this time a photo editor of LIFE magazine trying to track down a missing image and win over his crush played by Kristen Wiig. L.A. Times has released the first photo of the film with Ben Stiller looking pretty rough with a bag and a skateboard. I can’t help but think of Steve Martin in THE JERK, “That’s all I need.”
With a cast full of some of my favorite funny people, I think this could end up being pretty good. THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY stars Ben Stiller, Kristen Wiig,Adam Scott, Shirley MacLaine, Katheryn Hahn, Patton Oswalt and Sean Penn. Directed by Stiller as well the comedy adventure is slated to hit theaters Christmas Day.
