Filming has been underway on the 23rd James Bond film, SKYFALL, for about two weeks now, but they’re still bringing in casting announcements. The latest to join in on the fun is British actor Ben Whishaw, who will be playing Bond’s trusty gadget man Q. Whishaw could bring a different, younger take on the role that has predominantly been played by older British actors, including Desmond Llewelyn, John Cleese and Jeffrey Bayldon. Lucky for the filmmakers, there’s no need for continuity in the James Bond universe. Whishaw has been rumored to be appearing in the film for weeks now, but today we finally get official confirmation.
SKYFALL will be directed by Sam Mendes and will star Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Berenice Malohe and Naomie Harris. It’s currently filming in London and will hit US theaters on November 9th, 2012.
