Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley star in the new Imitation Game trailer

Although we’re still a couple of months away from Oscar season, the film that seems to be generating the most buzz early on is THE IMITATION GAME, thanks in large part to the commanding performance from Benedict Cumberbatch.  That, and the film has all of the ingredients Academy voters love; a historical setting, a true story, British actors and a conflicted hero.  It’s too early to tell if the film will find Oscar glory, but with The Weinsteins behind it and great early buzz, I think it’s a safe bet to receive a ton of nominations.  Check out the new international trailer below.

The official synopsis for THE IMITATION GAME: In THE IMITATION GAME, Benedict Cumberbatch stars as Alan Turing, the genius British mathematician, logician, cryptologist and computer scientist who led the charge to crack the German Enigma Code that helped the Allies win WWII. Turing went on to assist with the development of computers at the University of Manchester after the war, but was prosecuted by the UK government in 1952 for homosexual acts which the country deemed illegal.  THE IMITATION GAME stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Keira Knightley, Matthew Goode, Mark Strong, Charles Dance, Allen Leech and Matthew Beard.  The Morten Tyldum directed film hits theaters on November 21st.
