Benedict Cumberbatch stands over London on the first poster for Star Trek Into Darkness
We haven’t heard a whole lot about the Star Trek sequel, STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS. We got some set photos of Zachary Quinto putting the hurt on Benedict Cumberbatch back in February, but that’s about it. Today we get a look at the first teaser poster for the film, which features the villain, Benedict Cumberbatch, overlooking the city of London, which seems to be in ruins. This implies that at least some of the film will take place on earth. This falls in line with the official synopsis we got from Paramount a while back:
“When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.”
STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS will star Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Zoe Saldana, Anton Yelchin, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve and Peter Weller. The J.J. Abrams directed film will hit theaters on May 17th, 2013.
