Bradley Cooper and Ryan Gosling set for The Place Beyond The Pines

Bradley Cooper and Ryan Gosling are riding high with their careers right now, so them teaming up isn’t a huge surprise. The two actors have just been confirmed for the film THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES. Well, actually Gosling has been attached to this film for a while, but Cooper was just recently confirmed. The film is described as a generational feud between cops and robbers. Gosling will play a motorcycle stunt rider that turns to a life of crime to support his child and Cooper will play a police officer that crosses his path and the feud ensues. The film will be directed by Derek Cianfrance (who also co-wrote the script with Ben Coccio) who described the film as THE DEER HUNTER meets THE GODFATHER.

Those are two great films to compare your next movie to and as good as BLUE VALENTINE was, I’m not sure it prepared him to take on such ambitious material. But Cianfrance and Gosling worked well on that film, so we should keep our confidence high. Filming starts on July 25th.
