Bradley Cooper offered the lead in Steven Soderbergh's The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

One of the more coveted roles out there right now is the male lead in Steven Soderbergh’s planned film adaptation of the 60’s series THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E.  Soderbergh’s long time favorite George Clooney was attached to star at one point, but when he dropped out, the role remained vacant for some time.  But now word has come out that an official offer has been made to Bradley Cooper and he’s strongly considering accepting the part.

If he does accept, then he would play agent Solo, a member of the United Network Command for Law Enforcement (U.N.C.L.E.) who fight the evil forces of Technological Hierarchy for the Removal of Undesirables and the Subjugation of Humanity (T.H.R.U.S.H.).  Yeah, I don’t like the acronyms either, but I guess that’s the 60’s for you.  I’m not sure we need another spy film that starts from scratch with agencies we don’t know, but with Soderbergh and maybe Cooper attached, I’m definitely interested.
