Bruce Willis, Rebecca Hall and Joshua Jackson star in the Lay the Favorite trailer

A new trailer for the upcoming gambling comedy LAY THE FAVORITE, starring Bruce Willis, Rebecca Hall, Joshua Jackson and Catherine Zeta-Jones, has been released and I’m feeling a bit underwhelmed. When we first heard about the film it sounded funny and intriguing, and when some pretty great actors started to board then it seemed like a no-brainer good time. Unfortunately, no-brainier seems to be a great adjective to describe Rebecca Hall’s character, which is a little sickening since she’s such a strong female actress. And even though I love Bruce Willis, he doesn’t do anything for me in this trailer either. Maybe I’m being too harsh, but right now LAY THE FAVORITE isn’t a sure bet in my book.

Directed by Stephen Frears, LAY THE FAVORITE stars: Bruce Willis, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Rebecca Hall, Joshua Jackson, Vince Vaughn, Laura Prepon, Frank Grillo and Corbin Bernsen. It hits theaters on December 7th, 2012. Check out the new trailer below.
