Butter starring Jennifer Garner and Olivia Wilde coming to Blu-ray in December

Anchor Bay Entertainment and RADiUS-TWC have announced that the political satire comedy BUTTER, from director Jim Field Smith and starring Jennifer Garner, Ty Burrell, Olivia Wilde, Rob Corddry, Ashley Greene, Alicia Silverstone and Hugh Jackman, will be available in a Blu-ray Combo Pack on December 4th, 2012.
BUTTER takes place in Iowa, where the butter carving contests are as cutthroat and political as the Presidential elections. Scandals, greed, blackmail and sex all surround the competition. When the long-reigning champion butter sculptor, Bob Pickler (Ty Burrell) has to relinquish his reign, his overzealous wife, Laura (Jennifer Garner), enters the competition in hopes of becoming the next butter champion. A win seems inevitable until a 10-year-old girl named Destiny steps in and shows off her natural sculpting skills. Suddenly the heat is on and Laura will do anything in her power to take out the competition and win her place in butter history.

BUTTER looks pretty funny, but for some reason only had a limited theatrical release. Even though it only brought in just over $70,000 at the box office, I’m sure that was because the marketing was minimal and most people just didn’t know about it. Hopefully BUTTER will be as funny and quirky as the trailer was, which you can check out below.
