Carey Mulligan joins Oscar Isaac in Inside Llewyn Davis for The Coen Brothers

With the possible exception of Jennifer Lawrence, there’s probably not a hotter (as in “wanted”) actress out there right now than Carey Mulligan. The woman has a ton of projects lined up and just recently starred in the great DRIVE with Ryan Gosling. After that she has SHAME with Michael Fassbender and THE GREAT GATSBY with Leonard DiCaprio. Then next up for the young actress is the female lead in The Coen Brothers next directorial effort INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS. The project, as you may recall, is about folk singer Dave von Rank who was part of the folk music scene in Greenwich Village in the 60’s. The film is said to based off Rank’s own memoir “The Mayor of MacDougal Street”. Oscar Isaac is signed on to star as Rank and there’s no word what role Mulligan will play.
The Coen Brothers had hinted that they were making a musical-type film that would feature actual singing with only one instrument. Whether or not that comes to play remains to be seen.
