Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced that the documentary CATFISH, directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, will be coming to Blu-ray January 4, 2011. The film is dubbed a reality thriller about Schulman’s younger brother who starts an online relationship via Facebook that leads to interesting results. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and had a limited release in theaters in September and grossed just over $3 million. The movie has had reviews that call it disturbing, emotionally heart wrenching and at times painful to watch-sounds like a good time.
I’m all for dramas, but this seems to be one of those really mentally disturbing films that will keep you up thinking at night in a very bad way. Not my thing, but if you are into those kinds of psychological thriller films then this would be a good one to pick up. No special features have been released for the Blu-ray at this time.
