Channing Tatum and Will Arnett could be voicing characters in Lego: The Piece of Resistance

Lego Batman and Superman

Due to the success of the ridiculously popular video games from Lego, it was only natural that a Lego movie was on its way to the big screen. Looks like our favorite superheroes, namely Batman and Superman, are going Hollywood Lego style in the upcoming film LEGO: THE PIECE OF RESISTANCE. That wouldn’t be terribly exciting, except this film seems to be attracting some big size talent in the forms of Channing Tatum, Will Arnett and Chris Pratt (televisions Parks & Recreation).

Directed by Phil Lord, Chris Miller and Chris McKay, LEGO: THE PIECE OF RESISTANCE will follow an ordinary Lego figure named Emmett (Chris Pratt) who is mistaken as a MasterBuilder and becomes part of a team that has to stop an evil guy from gluing all the Legos together. I’m not sure how Batman (Will Arnett) and Superman/Clark Kent (Channing Tatum) will fit into this, but so far the premise sounds fun. LEGO: THE PIECE OF RESISTANCE will be a mix of live action and animation and is still a ways from getting underway, but there is a tentative release date of February 28, 2014, so stay tuned for further news.

Channing Tatum can be seen this weekend in the Steven Soderbergh film MAGIC MIKE. (Variety)
