Channing Tatum says Magic Mike 2 could be on the horizon
With all the hype leading up to the film and the crazy success of the male stripper film MAGIC MIKE (the film has already brought in over $77 million dollars and could reach $100 million before it leaves theaters), I suppose it’s not too surprising that Channing Tatum wants to make another movie about the half-naked men. We know that Channing Tatum is working on a Broadway production with co-producer/screenwriter Reid Carolin but who knows if he’ll be able to pull off a sequel as well. Can male strippers pull the female audience into the theaters again? Only time will tell, but I suspect it would be easier to keep a Broadway production going than to try to match the success of the film again.
For those who have been under a rock the last couple of months, MAGIC MIKE is loosely based on Channing Tatum’s life as a male stripper before he hit it big in Hollywood. If you haven’t had a chance to see it yet, you can check out our MAGIC MIKE review before you catch it in the theaters. MAGIC MIKE Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey, Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Gabriel Iglesias, Riley Keough, Olivia Munn and Cody Horn. (Glamour)
