Charlize Theron looking to join Seth Macfarlane's "A Million Ways to Die in the West"
After last summer’s successful raunchy comedy TED, it’s no wonder that upcoming Oscar host Seth Macfarlane would be handed the reigns in delivering another feature film. His next project is so very close to snagging Oscar winner Charlize Theron, who is said to be in final negotiations to star in A MILLION WAYS TO DIE IN THE WEST. Charlize Theron is definitely talented but I think comedies are better served with comedian actors rather than dramatic actors. Theron starred in last year’s SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN and PROMETHEUS and can next be seen in MAD MAX: FURY ROAD due out sometime in 2014.
Seth Macfarlane will be working overtime as director, writer and star of A MILLION WAYS TO DIE IN THE WEST that has been described as a BLAZING SADDLES style cowboy comedy. I’m curious if by “style” they mean “steal” as Macfarlane’s Family Guy is notorious for taking jokes from other shows and sticking them into his own show without putting any type of variation on the comedy. One of TED’s funniest scenes is when they reenacted an entire scene from AIRPLANE. I’m not saying it wasn’t funny, but I’m not sure he deserves any credit for that. (THR)
