Chloe Grace Moretz stars in the teaser trailer for the Carrie remake

No one asked for a CARRIE remake, but Screen Gems and MGM are bringing it to us anyway. That said, some footage screened at the New York Comic Con and it was overwhelmingly positive, prompting this teaser trailer to hit online so the rest of the world could check it out. It’s a simple, one-minute trailer featuring eerie background music and some voice-over work from what sounds like Julianne Moore and Judy Greer. I liked the camera zooming in on a bloody Chloe Grace Moretz, but overall this was just a teaser, so it’s hard to make any judgement on the film. I’m still a little stand-offish since it’s another remake, but that doesn’t mean it can’t change my mind.

CARRIE stars Chloe Grace Moretz, Julianne Moore, Judy Greer, Gabriella Wilde, Alex Russell and Portia Doubleday. Kimberly Peirce is directing the film, marking her first feature film since 2008’s STOP LOSS. Peirce is best known for directing Hilary Swank in BOYS DON’T CRY, but she should be able to handle a pseudo-horror film like CARRIE. The film opens in theaters on March 13th, 2013.
