Director Matt Reeves has his work cut out for him as he tries to make an English language version of the incredible Swedish film LET THE RIGHT ONE IN. His version, called LET ME IN, has the odds against it because so many people, myself included, love the original and feel a remake is completely unnecessary. But with that in mind, the first trailer for the film at least looks right. It has that same dark, eerie tone and it seems they stick pretty close to the original in terms of story. What I don’t like about the trailer is the alternative rock soundtrack. It didn’t really seem to fit the tone of the trailer and kind of made it feel like a teen horror movie, which this definitely is not.
The film hits theaters on October 1st and stars Chloe Moretz, Richard Jenkins and newcomer Kodi Smit-McPhee. Watch the trailer here.
