Chris Evans and Michelle Monaghan set to star in A Many Splintered Thing
It’s been reported that Chris Evans (CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER) and Michelle Monaghan (SOURCE CODE) have signed on to star in the upcoming film A MANY SPLINTERED THING which is being described as an “anti-romantic comedy” that’s “in the vein of AMELIE and (500) DAYS OF SUMMER)”. And not only will Chris Evans be starring in the film, but this will be his first feature film where he takes on the role of executive producer. A MANY SPLINTERED THING will be directed by Justin Reardon who is also making his directorial debut.
A MANY SPLINTERED THING follows a young guy (Chris Evans) who isn’t so keen on the idea of love, but when he meets a beautiful woman (Michelle Monaghan) at a charity event and pretends to be a philanthropist he starts to change his tune. The problem is the woman is engaged and her fiancé doesn’t like her dating guys (duh, why would he?) so Evans’ character decides to strike up a platonic relationship with her so he can keep seeing her and hopefully win her over. A MANY SPLINTERED THING is supposed to start shooting in October so hopefully we’ll get to see this film sometime next fall. (Deadline)
