Chris Evans in talks to star in Bong Joon-Ho's Snow Piercer

Chris Evans

When Chris Evans isn’t busy playing Captain America and starring in THE AVENGERS, he’s busy trying to find smaller, more character driven roles like last year’s PUNCTURE.  And for the sake of argument, let’s just forget all about the travesty that was WHAT’S YOUR NUMBER.  But in continuing with his streak of quality films, Chris Evans is looking to star in the science fiction film SNOW PIERCER for Korean director Bong Joon-Ho.  The film takes place on a train  in a post-apocalyptic world where everyone is divided up by class.  Joon-Ho wrote the script with fellow Korean Park Chan-Wook, who you might know from the Vengeance trilogy that included OLDBOY.

SNOW PIERCER is actually based off the French graphic novel ‘Le Transperceneige’, from writer Jacques Lob.  The idea is a simple one, but any time you add in race and politics into a science fiction setting, it can make for interesting results.  Joon-Ho and Evans will start filming in March for a 2013 release date.
