The summer of comic book movies is almost over and after Thor, The X-Men and Green Lantern all had their turn in the sun, the last remaining superhero to hit the big screen is Captain America. There’s always pressure on big budget movies to perform, but I would say CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER has more pressure on its super-shoulders than any film this summer. Mainly because it holds the key to two very important franchises. If it fails, it not only means no more Captain America movies (until the eventual reboot), but it could also spell doom for Joss Whedon’s THE AVENGERS. So I’m sure Marvel and Paramount executives won’t be sleeping easy on July 21st (the movie comes out on July 22nd).
The pics below won’t blow you away, but they’re enough to whet your appetite until the film comes out. The Joe Johnston directed film stars Chris Evans, Hayley Atwell, Hugo Weaving, Stanley Tucci, Tommy Lee Jones, Richard Armitage and Dominic Cooper.
