Chris Hemsworth stars in the first In the Heart of the Sea trailer

Chris Hemsworth has a very busy 2015 coming up.  He opens the year starring in Michael Mann’s BLACKHAT, then a few months later he has IN THE HEART OF THE SEA for Ron Howard and then he has a little movie called AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON just a couple months after that.  So basically, we’re going to get a lot of Chris Hemsworth early next year and I’m okay with that.  The first trailer for IN THE HEART OF THE SEA can be seen below and it looks pretty great.  It feels very Oscar-y, which makes that March release date a little confusing.

The official synopsis for IN THE HEART OF THE SEA: In the winter of 1820, the New England whaling ship Essex was assaulted by something no one could believe: a whale of mammoth size and will, and an almost human sense of vengeance. The real-life maritime disaster would inspire Herman Melville’s Moby-Dick. But that told only half the story. “Heart of the Sea” reveals the encounter’s harrowing aftermath, as the ship’s surviving crew is pushed to their limits and forced to do the unthinkable to stay alive. Braving storms, starvation, panic and despair, the men will call into question their deepest beliefs, from the value of their lives to the morality of their trade, as their captain searches for direction on the open sea and his first mate still seeks to bring the great whale down.  IN THE HEART OF THE SEA stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Holland,  Brendan Gleeson, Michelle Fairley, Charlotte Riley and Jordi Mollà.  The Ron Howard directed film opens in theaters on March 15th.
