Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana star in the first Guardians of the Galaxy trailer
The first trailer for Marvel’s GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY is now online and I think it answers some of the questions we had about the comic book adaptation. First, it’s going to rely heavily on the charm and likeability of Chris Pratt, which is a good thing. From the trailer, it’s clear that this is his movie and I’ve liked him in everything he’s done so far, so this shouldn’t be any different. The other thing we learned is that director James Gunn is definitely adding a lot of humor to the film, moreso than in any previous Marvel movie. Overall, I enjoyed the trailer, but would like some idea of the plot and story as opposed to just an intro trailer. Although that’s not a bad call from Marvel considering most people aren’t familiar with the comics.
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, featuring Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Nova Prime Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. The James Gunn directed film hits theaters on August 1st, 2014.
