Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway and Tom Hardy showcase new banners for The Dark Knight Rises
Well, I didn’t think I’d hit this point this long before the opening of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, but I think I might almost be sick of anything related to the film. But all the complaining in the world isn’t going to matter because we’re going to see a million more images of Christian Bale, Tom Hardy and Anne Hathway in their respective costumes before the third Batman film hits theaters. Today we have four new banners, that I have to admit are pretty great. I definitely wouldn’t mind having the banner of Batman and Bane hanging in my office.
And at this point, there’s really nothing more to say about the film. Clearly, Warner Bros. is completely sick of all The Avengers talk, so they’re bombarding us with posters, TV spots, stills and banners in hopes that we’ll make THE DARK KNIGHT RISES the most successful movie of all time. Personally, I think the film is going to be crazy successful, but from everything we’ve seen so far, it also looks like it’s going to be a bit of a downer (even if it does end on a high note). That’s going to make it tough to attract the casual repeat customer. But then again, I guess TITANIC ended on a downer as well and that did okay at the box office. But I’m not sure people want to see Christian Bale get his back broken a dozen times over the summer.
THE DARK KNIGHT RISES stars Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard and Juno Temple. This is the third and final Batman film for director Christopher Nolan (so sad, right?) and it opens in theaters on July 20th, 2012.
