Christian Bale, Tom Hardy and Anne Hathaway star in yet another The Dark Knight Rises trailer
Kudos to Warner Bros. for releasing a fifth trailer for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, ten days before it hits theaters and it actually offering up something new. We’ve been inundated with promotional material for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES for the past couple of months, but no matter how much we get, it seems I still can’t get enough. This new trailer is one of the better ones and I love how they included footage from BATMAN BEGINS and THE DARK KNIGHT to show the epic feel for the third and final film. Of course, I say “final”, but we all know WB will reboot this franchise in less than ten years. If Sony can get away with it with Spider-Man, you know WB will try the same thing with Batman.
If you look and listen closely, you’ll also notice that this trailer shows a few new scenes and plays some different cuts of Hans Zimmer’s score for the film. I think its safe to say there are no spoilers in the trailer and we still have no idea how the film will end. But director Christopher Nolan has promised a “lump in our throat”, so it’s hard not to let the mind wander with possibilities. And I’m still curious to see what kind of role Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play.
THE DARK KNIGHT RISES stars Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard and Juno Temple. This is the third and final Batman film for director Christopher Nolan and it finally opens in theaters on July 20th, 2012. If you haven’t bought your tickets yet for the midnight showing, I suggest you make plans to see it the following day. I’m all for seeing movies early, but don’t be a sucker and pay scalper prices for a movie you can watch for $10 a few hours later.
