Christian Bale will re-team with Brad Anderson for Concrete Island

Posted by: Kristy Sturdivant

According to director Brad Anderson, he will be re-teaming with actor Christian Bale for one of his upcoming films entitled CONCRETE ISLAND. The story is an adaptation from the novel by J.G. Ballard and follows:

The story of a wealthy architect who finds himself trapped in a man-made island between two West London motorways with only the contents of his car in his possession. What transpires is the degradation of his physical and mental condition.

Bale and Anderson worked together on the 2004 film THE MACHINIST which you may recall was the film where Bale lost a bunch of weight to get into character and ended with him giving quite an amazing performance. If CONCRETE ISLAND follows the route of “degradation of physical and mental condition” we may see another drastic body change in Bale. Production will begin when Bale’s schedule opens up which probably won’t be until late 2011 or early 2012.

Christian Bale’s upcoming projects include THE DARK KNIGHT RISES and THE 13 WOMEN OF NANJING (previously called NANJING HEROES) and Brad Anderson is working on JACK and ALL LOST SOULS.
