Christoph Waltz in a new image from Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained
We haven’t been hearing a lot about Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming spaghetti western DJANGO UNCHAINED, but today we’re finally getting a look at one of the leads Christoph Waltz. Christoph Waltz is all made up as Dr. King Schultz, a bounty hunter who gets together with a freed slave (played by Jamie Foxx) to rescue Foxx’s wife (played by Kerry Washington). This photo of Christoph Waltz is obviously not a lot to go on, but we can all be rest assured that just about anything Quentin Tarantino has his hands on will be pretty darn good.
Here’s a quick run-down of the synopsis, although I’m sure it’s going to be much more involved than this. DJANGO UNCHAINED follows the story of Django (Jaime Foxx), a freed slave who is trained by former dentist Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz) to be a deputy bounty hunter. After his training Django goes to the plantation of Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio), a ruthless slave owner who is in possession of Django’s wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington). DJANGO UNCHAINED has a star-studded cast that includes: Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Kurt Russell, RZA, Anthony LaPaglia and Kerry Washington. DJANGO UNCHAINED is set to hit theaters on December 25, 2012.
How could I not be excited about a Quentin Tarantino film that also stars Christoph Waltz? Ever since INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS, I have been a big fan of Christoph Waltz and loved him in his most recent film CARNAGE. He’s one of those actors that brings another dimension to a role and instantly makes any movie he’s part of better. The only movie I didn’t like that he was involved in was THE THREE MUSKETEERS, and really I can’t blame that on Christoph Waltz. He did an excellent job as the accented villain and the absurdity of that film was out of his control. (ONTD)
