One of the upcoming summer movies I have little to no interest in is the remake of FRIGHT NIGHT. The film is a remake of the campy 1985 horror flick of the same name. It’s not that it’s a remake, or even that it’s a horror-comedy film, it’s that I’m sick of vampires. If Hollywood is going to continue to pounce on the vampire idea, then they need to do something original with it, not remake a bad movie from the 80’s.
This version of the film features a high school student named Charlie (Anton Yelchin) that becomes suspicious his mysterious neighbor (Colin Farrell) is a vampire. But when no one listens to his pleas, Charlie decided to take it upon himself to rid the neighborhood of its new problem. Craig Gillespie is directing and the film also stars Toni Collette and David Tennant. It hits theaters everywhere on August 19th.
