Colin Farrell is set for True Detective season 2
Almost everyone has seen HBO’s ‘True Detective’, but if you haven’t, you need to find time on your calendar to fit it in. The first season was brilliant on nearly every level and although it dealt with very serious subject matter and had plenty of uncomfortable, squeamish moments, the ride was well worth it. But since the first season finale aired, fans have been wondering about what they’ll do for a follow-up and despite all the rumors and speculation, the truth is that we don’t know much of anything. Until now, all we really knew was that it would have a brand new cast and be a completely new story.
Colin Farrell was one of many names attached to the second season, along with guys like Vince Vaughn and Taylor Kitsh and ladies like Elisabeth Moss, Jessica Biel and Brit Marling (among many others), but today he dropped the confirmation that he will, in fact, be starring in the second season. While speaking to Sunday World, he said “I’m doing the second series. I’m so excited. I know it will be eight episodes and take around four or five months to shoot, I know very little about it, but we’re shooting in the environs of Los Angeles which is great. It means I get to stay at home and see the kids.” So there you go; we now have one star and one shooting location. Now that Farrell has spilled the beans on his casting, expect HBO to make an official announcement with other cast members soon.
