Colin Firth plays a con man in the new Gambit trailer

Yesterday we got to see a short, fuzzy clip from the upcoming heist comedy GAMBIT starring Colin Firth, Alan Rickman and Cameron Diaz, and that little bit must have been so popular the studio decided to release a full length trailer for the masses to enjoy, so considerate of them. This full length trailer for GAMBIT does make the film look infinitely better than yesterday’s taste, but somehow I get that hint that all the good and humorous parts might have been included in the trailer and the actual film may be somewhat disappointing. Maybe I’m just being a little skeptical and I hope I’m wrong, but I’ve been burned before. Plus, Cameron Diaz with that fake Southern accent still makes me cringe a little, and Alan Rickman still makes me want to see this film.

GAMBIT follows an art curator who decides to get revenge on his boss by conning him to buy a fake Monet. Unfortunately, his plan requires the help of a Texas rodeo queen (Cameron Diaz) who has a pretty awful accent. Directed by Michael Hoffman, GAMBIT stars: Colin Firth, Alan Rickman, Cameron Diaz, Stanley Tucci, Cloris Leachman and Anna Skellern. GAMBIT should hit U.S. theaters sometime early next year. Check out the new trailer below.
