Colin Hanks plays a serial killer wannabe in Lucky

Aside from vampires and werewolves, apparently another angle Hollywood is going after is the likeable serial killer. Showtime has a hit on its hands with Michael C. Hall playing Dexter, and now it looks like Phase 4 and Ten/Four Pictures are trying to ride that success with a comedy called LUCKY.
Directed by Gil Cates, Jr., the film follows Ben (Colin Hanks), a seemingly average guy who likes to kill people. When he strikes it rich by winning the lottery, he goes after the girl of his dreams (Ari Graynor from TV’s Fringe) and marries her. Along the way she ends up discovering her husband’s hobby and doesn’t seem too distressed.
The trailer doesn’t really give much away, and IMDB.com gives even less, so it’s tough to tell if there are going to be any other subplots thrown in there. However, supporting cast includes Ann- Margret, Mimi Rogers and Jeffrey Tambor, so the film should be good for at least a couple of laughs.
LUCKY hits theaters on July 15, 2011.
