Composer Howard Shore has said he will return for the upcoming THE HOBBIT. Shore won two Academy Awards for Best Music, Original Score for Peter Jackson’s THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING and THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RETURN OF THE KING. Shore admits those films are his crowning achievements.

“The piece is very close to me, I spent close to four years writing it,”

Now it looks like Shore will be heading back to Middle Earth to work on another J.R.R. Tolkien novel continuing the story that sparked concerts and tours of his magnificent music.

“It looks like finally it’s going to be happening. I’ll be working on it for the next three years — it’s going to consume a lot of my time and work now.”

Martin Freeman will play Bilboa Baggins. Joining him is an extensive cast including: James Nesbitt, Adam Brown, Richard Armitage, Rob Kazinsky, Aidan Turner, Graham McTavish, John Callen, Stephen Hunter, Mark Hadlow and Peter Hambleton. Both parts of THE HOBBIT will be released in December of 2012 and 2013.
