Could Amy Adams be joining the American remake of The Orphanage?

If you haven’t gotten the chance to check out the Guillermo del Toro produced horror film, THE ORPHANAGE you should. Probably before they remake it. Wait—nevermind.
It’s not a full blown Spanish remake, it’s just getting the Americanized stamp on it. Mark Pellington (I MELT WITH YOU, HENRY POOLE IS HERE) has been hired to direct.
Now it looks like Amy Adams is being eyed to star in the film. Adams would take on the role of Laura, the woman who goes back to the orphanage she once lived in to reopen the facility as a place for disabled children. There have only been talks with the actress and nothing has been signed or set.
In the film, Laura is accompanied by her husband and foster child, Simón who starts to see imaginary friends in the old orphanage. His main friend, Tomás turns out to be more deadly than they could have imagined. Crazy, creepy things start to unravel as their time in the facility goes on.
