Daniel Craig and Javier Bardem strut around on the set of Skyfall
I guess there’s really not too much to get excited about when it comes to set photos from the latest James Bond film, SKYFALL. We’re really not going to get much more than Daniel Craig in a dirty suit or, if the ladies are lucky, Daniel Craig without his shirt on. But it’s hard not to look at these photos and be reminded just how cool James Bond really is, and Daniel Craig plays the part perfectly. But aside from the fact that we know Bond can fight international crime while wearing a five thousand dollar suit, we also get our first look at the film’s main villain, played by Javier Bardem. And either the standard for Bond villains has dropped dramatically, or Bardem is in disguise as a British police officer. Either way, Daniel Craig doesn’t seem too worried about the situation.
Filming is currently underway in London, and given how long its been shooting already, it’s impressive it has taken this long to get a look at Javier Bardem. As with most Bond films, the plot details are being kept under tight wraps. So far, all we have is the basic plot outline: “In ‘Skyfall,’ Bond’s (Daniel Craig) loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.” That’s not much to go on, but given the film is directed by Sam Mendes, who has directed dramas such as AMERICAN BEAUTY, ROAD TO PERDITION and REVOLUTIONARY ROAD, I’m guessing this is going to be a more dramatic, small scale Bond. But I’m sure we’ll still get to see Daniel Craig run around the globe beating up bad guys.
SKYFALL stars Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Berenice Malohe and Naomie Harris. The Sam Mendes directed film is set to hit theaters on November 9th, 2012.
