Dark Shadows from director Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp coming to Blu-ray in October

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced that the dark comedy from director Tim Burton, DARK SHADOWS (click the link to read the review), will be available in a Blu-ray/DVD/UltraViolet combo pack on October 2, 2012. DARK SHADOWS has a stellar cast that includes: Johnny Depp, Eva Green, Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter, Jonny Lee Miller, Chloe Grace Moretz, Jackie Earle Haley, Christopher Lee and Bella Heathcote.

DARK SHADOWS follows Barnabas Collins (Johnny Depp) a vampire buried alive by a witch named Angelique. When Barnabas surfaces over two hundred years later, he wakes to discover that his home and family are in ruins. Now he must acclimate to the current time and regain his family fortune.

DARK SHADOWS had mild success at the box office, but that could be because it was released next to a huge summer hit in THE AVENGERS. Some fans think this was a fail on director Tim Burton’s part, but I’ll reserve my judgment for the Blu-ray release this fall. Afterall, how could Johnny Depp as a vampire in the 1970s be all that terrible? Check out the DARK SHADOWS trailer below.
