Darren Aronofsky reveals new title for Wolverine 2

Darren Aronofsky has revealed the title for the second installment in the X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE film, starring Hugh Jackman. The movie will be called THE WOLVERINE (was that anti-climatic?) and Aronofsky, “referred to the movie as a ‘one-off’, and he emphasized that the film isn’t a sequel in any conventional sense.” The screenplay is written by Christopher McQuarrie and follows the storyline of when Logan (Wolverine) falls in love with a Japanese woman who is promised to another man. Since Logan is a hard-headed man, he is forced to battle with the girls father and his group of samurai swordsmen. There is no confirmed release date at this time.
This is very exciting news and I can’t wait for more information about the casting. The X-MEN franchise has had its ups and downs over the years and the films have gotten progressively worse. I think Darren Aronofsky is a great director and hopefully he can breathe some fresh air into series.
