Denzel Washington looking to star in Safe House

Posted by: Nathan Swank

Universal Pictures is hoping to snag Denzel Washington for their new film SAFE HOUSE. Sadly, Washington’s agent for the last twenty years, Ed Limato, lost his battle with lung cancer over the weekend, which has put a delay on negotiations. William Morris Endeavor Agency has been working with Washington for several weeks now and believes they can deliver him original material and a big paycheck in this new spy thriller. David Guggenheim wrote the screenplay.

Washington would play a prisoner who is under witness protection in South America. After the people who want him dead find out about the safe house, he must go on the run with a young U.S. intelligence agent. No word on who would play the agent but if there is any money left over from Washington’s paycheck, how about throwing some of it at James McAvoy.
