Diane Kruger and Rosamund Pike may star in The Godmother

Diane Kruger (INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS) and Rosamund Pike (MADE IN DAGENHAM) are in the early stages of negotiations to star in the upcoming adaptation of THE GODMOTHER.  The novel, written by Carrie Adams, follows a carefree woman, named Tess, with no ties to anyone. She is constantly examining the lives of her surrounding friends who have children and she has to determine whether or not she is really happy with her current lifestyle. THE GODMOTHER will be directed by Justin Chadwick and should start shooting sometime this summer with a 2012 release date.

I’ve read some good reviews about this book and some people are putting it into the category of a BRIDGET JONES’ DIARY-esque film. When you put it like that it sounds very promising. I’d like to see more of Diane Kruger because she really was great in INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS and she hasn’t done anything high profile since.
