Don Johnson joins Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained

The casting news keeps coming in for Quentin Tarantino’s latest effort, DJANGO UNCHAINED. Hot off the news that Kurt Russell would be stepping in for Kevin Costner, we get news that Crockett himself, Don Johnson, will be taking a role in the film as well. Johnson will play slave owner Spencer “Big Daddy” Bennett who is the boss to the men that sold Django into slavery. Some are already calling this another inspired choice from Tarantino, but personally, I’m disappointed with the casting so far because everyone seems like an obvious choice to this point. The only against-type role we really had was Costner, but he dropped out. Johnson isn’t much of a surprise because he worked with Robert Rodriguez in MACHETE and played a sleazy character there as well.
So far, DJANGO UNCHAINED stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Kurt Russell, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, Gerald McRaney, Dennis Christopher, Laura Cayouetteand Michael K. Williams. The film arrives on December 25th, 2012.
