Dwayne Johnson set for Brett Ratner's Hercules
Brett Ratner has had a frustratingly average career and most fanboys haven’t forgiven him for what he did to X-MEN: LAST STAND, but the guy continues to get work. And not only does he get work, he gets big studio tentpoles. Next up for Ratner is the big screen adaptation of the Steve Moore comic HERCULES: THE THRACIAN WARS, which Ratner will shorten to simply HERCULES. The comic book follows Hercules and his team of friends that get hired by the King of Thrace to train his army to train them to be as bloodthirsty as they are.
None other than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (who has a frustrating career in his own right) will be playing Hercules, which means this project could get fast tracked over at Warner Bros. But The Rock has FAST SIX and Michael Bay’s PAIN & GAIN to film in 2012, so this probably won’t start for several months.
